We are currently seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to join the Accounting & Process Control Group at Nissan Motor Corporation, based at our Headquarters in Mexico City.
(Please note: This position is located in Mexico, but supports the North American team based in Franklin, Tennessee, USA).
This role is responsible for performing critical accounting functions, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and supporting external audits and public debt offerings. The successful candidate will also contribute to continuous process improvements and ensure compliance with US GAAP and International Accounting Standards (IAS).
Job Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and analyze monthly journal entries and account reconciliations in compliance with US GAAP and IAS/GRAPH, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across multiple legal entities.
2. Support the preparation of internal management reports, parent company reports, and financial data for public debt offerings.
3. Manage accounting for complex transactions, including securitized debt, loss reserves and intercompany eliminations.
4. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Treasury, Tax, and Legal) to compile data for quarterly reporting.
5. Coordinate quarterly and year-end audits, providing required documentation for multiple legal entities.
6. Review and improve accounting processes, proposing solutions to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate financial risk.
7. Support ad hoc financial analysis and respond to internal and external information requests.
8. Communicate regularly with internal departments and affiliate accounting teams to ensure accurate financial representation and compliance.
Professional Profile We Are Looking For:
Education Level: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
Graduate degree or CPA/public accounting experience is a plus.
Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or financial services environment.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of US GAAP and IAS.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.) and Microsoft Word.
SAP
Knowledge the difference between balance sheets and income statements
Language: Advanced English
