Purpose:
The Senior Workday Analyst – Reporting is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and insightful reports and dashboards within Workday. This role serves as a subject matter expert for Workday Report Writer, Discovery Boards, and Prism Analytics, translating business needs into actionable data solutions that support strategic decision-making across HR and the enterprise.
This individual will partner closely with HR, HRIS, Finance, and business leaders to deliver accurate, timely, and user-friendly analytics. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of Workday reporting tools and a consultative mindset with the ability to tell stories through data. This is an in-office position (4 days office/1 day remote).
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).4–6 years of experience working in Workday, with a focus on reporting and analyticsStrong knowledge of Workday’s core HCM, Security, and Reporting frameworks (including Composite and Matrix reports).Proficiency in calculated fields, custom report types, and data source management.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (e.g., pivot tables, vLOOKUP, xLOOKUP, data analysis).Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and reporting solutions.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and storytelling skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate and influence across teams and levels.High attention to detail and data accuracy.Key Responsibilities:
Report Development: Designing, developing, and generating reports, dashboards, and visualizations that meet business objectives and stakeholder requirements.Documentation: Documenting data elements, data flow, relationships, and dependencies within complex data systems.Collaboration: Working closely with business analysts, data architects, data scientists, database developers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure reports are accurate, relevant, and meet business needs.Communication: Presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing.Maintenance and Improvement: Maintaining a repository of reports, adapting to changes in data and requirements, and continuously monitoring and evaluating report performance for improvements.Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues related to data quality and reporting accuracy.Training and Support: Potentially providing technical support and training to users on report usage and access.This position description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
