Senior Analyst, Paralegal

Position Summary

Provide paralegal and administrative support in the areas of consumer finance and consumer regulatory matters, under the direction of the Senior Managing Director, Associate General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

Conducts assigned research projects including federal and state consumer financial laws and regulations.

Default Attorney Application: Reviews and approves new default attorney applications in accordance with investor guidelines.  Certifies renewal of residential default attorneys, maintains the database.

 Collateral Reviews: to include:

-Requests for partial releases; transfer real property to a trust or LLC.

add or remove a name from a deed. Assists in regulatory projects

and new product development sponsored by lines of business.

Responsible for managing the daily workflow review of service of process documents (foreclosure/bankruptcy notifications, summons & complaints, etc.)

Collaborates with other departments to ensure seamless service and good outcomes.

Provides support to consumer restructure and recovery

Training in substantive areas of law and job responsibilities.

Performs such other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Candidates with undergraduate degree (Associates, Bachelor’s, and/or Master’s) preferred, yet a High School diploma or GED is required. Candidates with some combination of coursework and experience, or extensive related professional experience, are eligible for consideration.

Paralegal certificate required

Seven or more years of related experience

Retail banking, mortgage lending, foreclosure and litigation experience preferred

Familiarity with conducting research on various state/county land record sites

Self-motivated, highly organized and detail-oriented

Critical thinking, evaluation and analytical skills

Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability

Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft products including Excel and Word, Adobe PDF.

Strong legal research skills and experience using legal research tools such as Lexis Nexis or Westlaw

Ability to interact with outside counsel in a professional manner.

Must write well and have strong organizational skills

Ability to work well independently and exercise good judgment

High degree of technical aptitude and proficiency

The estimated base salary range for this position is $35.00 USD to $45.00 USD.  Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
