Senior Analyst, Finance (Hybrid)

Join our team at The E.W. Scripps Company as a Senior Financial Analyst and play a crucial role in supporting our local media operations. In this position, you'll provide valuable financial insights that help drive strategic decisions across our stations and brands. You'll work closely with leadership to ensure financial accuracy and identify opportunities for growth.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Support execution of financial planning and metric-based reporting with focus on budgeting and forecasting

Take ownership of station/brand financials during month-end close process

Analyze variances to forecast and budgets and provide data to local leadership

Support Senior Director-Regional Finance and Directors of Finance in ad hoc analysis

Analyze financial data for internal and external financial reports

Maintain effective communication with department heads and station/brand management

Analyze strategic investments at site level and support local decision making

Stay informed of industry developments in local market and station performance

Prepare analysis for monthly reporting and perform ad hoc analysis as needed

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

BS in Accounting, Finance or related discipline or equivalent experience

5-7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

Strong financial and analytical skills

Solid understanding of financial concepts

Media experience is a plus with digital media interest and aptitude essential

Strong oral and written communication skills

Ability to work well with all levels of management and employees

Ability to work independently

Strong attention to detail

Ability to maintain confidential information

Project leadership skills with multiple team members across functions

Problem-solving abilities with minimal direction

Skills to conceptualize and build financial models from start to finish

Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects concurrently

Critical thinking skills with broad business background

Collaborative approach to work effectively with local station staff

Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and macros

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
