Based in Asturias, Spain and reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the incumbent will be the Finance primary contact for administration, statutory accounting, tax and assist on certain legal requirements. The role will also require to and will make the connection between the businesses in several countries, the Business Service Center and any external stakeholders. He/she will be responsible for the overall accounting, reporting, compliance, preparation of local statutory accounts as well as tax accounting for various entities. He/she will also link with local authorities as required.
Maintains general ledgers and performs the complete accounting cycle in compliance with established practices and generally accepted accounting principles. Adheres to internal control policies and procedures. Analyzes data and translates into meaningful information. Provides management and financial The Analyst, Accountant will be an integral member of Controllership- APAC with responsibilities for APAC LEs. Key responsibilities include partnering with Finance team and External/Outsourced Service Provider(BPO) in various locations remotely to ensure full compliance with statutory requirements /company policies, coordinate the accurate and timely delivery of local and global financial statements, facilitate the effective running of finance related processes within the local organizations and involvement with country specific business initiatives/process improvement opportunities.
The primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Working closely with Statutory reporting team and BPO to ensure accurate and timely delivery of local and global financial statements.Partnering with Statutory reporting team and Tax team to manage effective statutory audits, tax and other regulatory requirements submissionsPartnering with Statutory Reporting team to monitor month-end closing activities and performance of outsource service center for improvement opportunities.Assist in monthly financial statements fluctuations review and accounts reconciliations in accordance to corporate policies.Provides management and financial statement users with relevant, comparable, and accurate data on which to base decisions.Adheres to internal control policies and procedures.Continuously improves and serves as a resource in their area of responsibility.Optimize and ensure effective running of end to end finance related processes within the local organizations as well implement best practices.Work closely with cross functional teams on specific country related initiatives.Implement finance process improvement initiatives and internal controls improvements.Additional responsibilities of the position could include:
Initiate/participate/lead in various projects and research during the month when requestedSupport to maintain a strong control environment to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, policies and guidelinesSkills & Competency Requirements:
Degree in Finance or Accounting, chartered accountant (or equivalent) 3+ years work experiences in accounting.Computer Proficiency including SAP, MS Office (especially Excel)Preferred knowledge and experience of US / local GAAPs and filing of Financial and Tax statements.Ability to adapt to recurrent changes, champion them and fast grasping knowledgeAbility to relate and connect processes, continuous improvement visionAble to work independently, self-motivated.Language Skills: English proficiency, and any other Asian language is a plusShould have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and can influence people to obtain the desired results.Experience in working in international, multicultural environments is a plus.In our pursuit to be the greatest place to work, we know that a critical element to enhancing our employee experience is to assure we’re operating with a solid foundation of trust.
