Opportunity:

Get Well is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior AI Engineer to join our growing team of AI experts, focused on building and operationalizing advanced AI solutions that drive business value, operational efficiency, and personalized patient engagement. This role is ideal for an experienced technologist with 5+ years of hands-on experience in LLMs, ML, and related technologies, especially in training, customizing, and deploying models for real-world use cases.
The successful candidate will work through all phases of the AI development life cycle, from data strategy and model development to production deployment, monitoring, and continuous optimization. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and clinical teams to ensure integration of scalable, secure, and high-impact AI systems in our business processes.
This position reports directly to the SVP, Data & AI, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement AI solutions that enhance precision care, patient engagement and operational efficiency.
 

Responsibilities:

AI Model Development and CustomizationLead the design, development, and fine-tuning of large language models (LLMs) tailored for business-critical healthcare applicationsApply domain adaptation techniques to foundation models for operational use casesBuild multimodal AI systems that integrate structured and unstructured data sources Optimize model performance, accuracy, and efficiency for production environmentsTechnical ImplementationWrite clean, maintainable code for AI model training, evaluation, and inference at scaleBuild and manage data pipelines and MLOps frameworks for continuous learning Implement best practices for model versioning, experiment tracking, and reproducibilityIntegrate AI solutions with existing product architectures and infrastructureData Engineering and ManagementPrepare and process high-quality healthcare and operational data for model training and validationApply privacy-preserving techniques and comply with healthcare data regulations (e.g., HIPAA)Implement synthetic data generation or augmentation strategies to enhance training datasetsAddress data quality issues such as class imbalance, sparsity, and noise in sensitive domainsEvaluation and Bias AssessmentDesign robust evaluation protocols and business-focused KPIs to assess AI model performanceMonitor and improve fairness, transparency, and bias mitigation across AI solutionsConduct rigorous A/B testing, scenario simulations, and error analysis to ensure system reliabilityTrack AI outcomes to support measurable gains in efficiency, accuracy, and user experienceCollaborative DevelopmentPartner with product and operations leaders to define AI requirements aligned with business goalsCollaborate with domain experts to ensure model outputs are actionable and trustworthyParticipate in agile development processes, including sprint planning and reviewsDocument solution architecture, modeling assumptions, and implementation processesContinuous Learning and InnovationStay abreast of industry trends in LLMs, MLOps, and applied AI for business transformationRapidly prototype and test emerging AI capabilities with practical business applicationsContribute to internal tooling, frameworks, and reusable components for scalable AI developmentProactively identify efficiency opportunities across business workflows through AI automation
 

Requirements:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, ML, or related technical field5+ years of hands-on experience with:Training and fine-tuning LLMsImplementing multimodal AI solutionsWorking through the complete AI development lifecycleDeveloping AI solutions for complex domain use casesTechnical proficiency in:Python programming and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent)Fine-tuning techniques for LLMs (prompt engineering, PEFT, LoRA, etc.)Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Understanding (NLU) techniquesCloud computing and ML operations platformsMLOps, model deployment, and monitoring in cloud environmentsExperience with:Developing AI systems in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare)Real-world structured and unstructured data integrationCI/CD for ML workflows, experiment tracking, and reproducibility toolsKPI definition and performance evaluation frameworksStrong problem-solving skills and analytical thinkingAbility to work effectively in fast-paced, agile environmentsExperience working with cross-functional teamsSelf-motivated with ability to work independently and collaborativelyExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersStrong documentation habits and attention to detailCollaborative mindset and team-oriented approachBasic understanding of healthcare data types and workflows (preferred)Awareness of healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)Knowledge of responsible AI practices and ethical considerationsFamiliarity with healthcare terminology and patient care processes (a plus)Adhere to all organizational information security policies and protect all sensitive information including but not limited to ePHI and PHI in accordance with organizational policy and Federal, State, and local regulations

Base salary is dependent on many factors including, but not limited to education, experience and skills. This range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
