Our client has a processing centre of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographical time zones employing a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across times zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability. The objectives for Malaysia are to enhance the scalability of their global operations, improve service quality via their ‘centres of excellence’ and to implement/leverage standardised processes globally.

This role works within the Corporate Actions team which is part of the Securities Operations department of Wealth Management Asia. Responsible for timely and accurate end to end processing of Corporate Actions Events according to defined SLAs and handling queries from internal and external parties.

What will you do?

To deliver the best client experience through timely and accurate end to end processing of Corporate Action Events according to defined SLAs.Demonstrate in-depth knowledge to navigate through complex Mandatory and Voluntary Corporate Action Events including Merger, Split, Spin Off, Rights Exercise, Tender Offer and Repurchase Offer etc.Perform payment for Corporate Action Events including cash dividend, interest and redemption etc.Perform payment and holdings reconciliation between our system record with our custodian and nostro cash account record.Ensure that all transactions are processed in accordance with bank rule, circulars, procedures and local regulatory requirements.Perform QI Tax reporting which include annual reconciliation and income reclassificationProactive in managing daily email and follow upManage stakeholders’ requests and queries within stipulated timeframeTo collaborate & navigate through complex issues with team members & stakeholdersExhibit a proactive commitment for continuous improvement through process reviews, error root-cause analysis & streamlining workflow to deliver better results.Collaborate with other teams to identify gap in current processes with downstream impact.Participation in team/ department initiatives or projects as subject matter expert to promotes best-practice adoption, facilitating knowledge transfer & driving strategic enhancement in Securities Operations.Keep risk management at the forefront of day-to-day activities by advocating implementation of controls and processes to mitigate risks.Provide impact analysis and root cause analysis for any Operational Risk Events that may arise.Participates in Audit review and ensure audit queries are attended promptlyDemonstrate clear understanding and adherence to WM escalation matrix/protocol

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Self-motivated and able to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast paced environmentMinimum 2 years of working experience within a Corporate Actions team/departmentGood working knowledge of global practices in relation to corporate actionsStrong analytical skills and attention to detailsGood inter-personal and communication skills (written and verbal)Committed and responsible with an attitude to ensure accuracy and completeness

Nice-to-have

Familiarity with Avaloq system, Bloomberg, Reuters.Language: Able to read and speak in Mandarin due to certain market supporting
