Job Summary
The Center for Data Sciences (CDS) is a unique collaboration between the Department of Medicine at BWH (Division of Genetics), Harvard Medical School, and the Broad Institute. The goal of the center is to foster interdisciplinary and quantitative disease-oriented research. This individual will work in close communication with the CDS Director, Dr. Soumya Raychaudhuri, to manage his schedule and assist in general administrative support for the BWH CDS, consisting of the Raychaudhuri, Loh, and Korsunsky lab groups.The ideal candidate has experience in administration within a research division and can multi-task effectively to successfully manage a complex and often evolving calendar. In addition, providing operations / facilities support, having superb organizational and team building skills, and a commitment to working with a group of highly motivated scientists and administrative professionals is a must. This position requires a high degree of initiative and independent judgment as well as the upmost discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the smooth operation of the Raychaudhuri lab including scheduling meetings and managing Dr. Raychaudhuri’s calendar. Follow up on action items and other miscellaneous activities. Bring to the PI’s attention all matters that require his/her review and/or action. Keep the PI informed about any staff issues in a timely manner.
Serves as a point of support for lab members on any administrative issues. Assists staff with any organizational/policy/procedure questions.
Assist as needed with arrangements for seminars and conferences including travel
Itineraries, event coordination, reservations and deposits, employee reimbursements. Provide routine administrative support such as: typing emails and letters and taking and distributing messages.
Support required outfitting of labs by assisting researchers as needed with placing orders for
equipment, laboratory, and office supplies. Interface with vendors, manage orders, and liaise
with Accounts Payable and Purchasing Departments as needed. Process all check requests, invoices, and expense reports in a timely manner.
Perform all other duties and assignments and special projects, as requested
Qualifications
Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
3+ years of related experience required; executive calendar management experience is a huge plus
Experience with the administrative aspects of a research lab preferred
Experience with MGB Healthcare Systems (Workday) helpful
