This role uses expert knowledge in the field of retail retirement fund administration – specifically in respect of exit events in terms of the Pension Funds Act (e.g. section 37C death claims, section 14 transfers, retirements and withdrawals). The role operates in a project environment where data enrichment, campaign design, internal and external tracing and resolution of these exits are reached via payment or classification as unpaid/unclaimed benefits. It uses specific experience of legislation and retail and occupational retirement fund products to resolve technical and complex challenges of an operational nature. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts and efforts of others.Role Description:
This role functions as a subject matter expert in a specific field of administration, product, process and systems linked to retail and occupational retirement funds.Often acts as a point of escalation for matters with higher level of complexity than those handled by Administration Specialists.Will act as an expert resource on major projects and will be accountable for the delivery of projects within the division or BU.Will be accountable for maintaining and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s). Will act as a coach for Specialist Staff.Often consulted for process and system enhancements.Operational Delivery:
Manages daily operational (customer service and or administrative) delivery within specified time standards.Accountable for technical decision making within a specific functional area.Will take accountability for the implementation of an operational project.Responsible for daily / monthly workflow and productivity planning, monitoring and reporting.Liaises with customers, advisors and external third-party providers on complex compliance matters, both telephonically and via email.Personal Effectiveness:

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required
Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.Minimum of 5 years working experience with retail and/or occupational retirement funds, specifically exit events in terms of the Pension Funds Act.Analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication (verbal and written) interactive skills.Strong delivery focus.Ability and desire to understand and practically apply legislation and SOP’s.Ability to work in a team and independently.Computer literate with good working knowledge of MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Email Systems.Knowledge of OM retail and/or occupational retirement fund administration and workflow systems an advantage.Must display excellent planning and organising skills.Ability to work under pressure.Competencies
