Senior Actuarial Associate
**Job Description:** Provides actuarial and underwriting expertise, and contributes to the organization's financial soundness. Applies actuarial and underwriting principles to the design and financial management of health care benefit programs and financing systems. Job Essentials 1. Provides direction and oversight of product design and rating structures for new and existing products and all associated internal / external systems and state filing requirements. 2. Coordinates and develops all required rate and compliance certifications, and ensures a cooperative and effective relationship with Insurance Departments of State governments. 3. Provides direction and oversight for the development and maintenance of analysis, forecasting, and reporting of claims experience and trends, both in aggregate and various components. 4. Analyzes and develops financial statement reserves and other liabilities including IBNR, contingent settlements, incentive and risk-share payments, reinsurance claims and other third-party claims and liabilities, etc. 5. Provides input and support for internal and external audits and reporting. 6. Provides direction and oversight of development and maintenance of analysis, forecasting, and reporting of budget projection inputs, both in aggregate and various components. 7. Analyzes, develops and maintains administrative expense models. 8. Provides direction and oversight of development, analysis, and reporting of facility, physician, and other provider reimbursement structures. Models and services utilization information. 9. Coordinates and develops Retiree Drug Subsidy data reporting and submissions. 10. Designs, develops, and maintains data extracts and complex queries and on-line data analysis and reporting tools. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in math, statistics, computer science, economics or finance obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified. Current Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) - and - Member of American Academy of Actuaries or Society of Actuaries. Eight years of relevant actuarial experience, including benefit design, financing systems and valuation. Preferred Qualifications Excellent analytical skills.
