Job Description
This role is in the Finance team in Corporate Segment and is responsible for maintaining the accounting records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the records as well as the relevant reconciliations for Corporate Segment and Group Assurance (GAP) products.Responsibilities include the monitoring of financial reporting systems and the preparation of product reconciliations for financial reporting purposes. Reconciliation of portfolio also includes the maintenance and implementation of controls, corrections and reporting on accounting links to the ledger. Assists audit team with audits relating to the specific product portfolio.

Accounting processingReconcile accounts at regular intervals (Daily/ weekly/monthly).Monitor and follow up on the nature, cause and effect of reconciling items and proactively seek ways of preventing the occurrence of reconciling items.Provide advice and support to other team membersReport to management on the status of these accounts and the reasons for the reconciling items.Reconcile debtor’s & creditors’ balances per the General Ledger to ancillary systems, follow up on outstanding debtorsEnsure that receipts and journals are processed on a timely basis so that all accounts on the general ledger are reasonably statedInvestigation of open items in the control accounts and processing of relevant accounting entries to clear open entries on the control accounts.Processing of paymentsHandling of general account queries with relevant stakeholdersInvestigate, correct and report on entries in the general ledgerAssist Audit teams with auditsAccounting RecordsMaintains records of transactions made by the business unitControls, corrects and reports on accounting links to the ledgerPersonal EffectivenessAccountable for service delivery through own efforts.Individually accountable for managing own time, tasks and output quality over periods of 1 day to a maximum of three months.Makes increased contributions by broadening individual skills.Collaborates effectively with others to achieve personal results.Accepts and lives the company values.Balances own priorities with directing and motivating others.Job Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Accounting or studying towards a tertiary qualification in Accounting.Good communications skills (both written and verbal)Advanced Excel skillsOracle Financials knowledgeCOMPASS, OMUNET, RFA and/or GAP product knowledge would be an advantageAccurate reconciliations tool knowledge would be an advantageHigh degree of attention to detail orientation and accuracyExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsTeam PlayerGood planning, organizing and time management skillsGood Analytical SkillsFRP knowledge would be advantageousSkills
