How would you like to join the Business Service Operations EMEA team as a Senior Accounting Specialist ?** **Core Responsibilities** + Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations including supporting explanations and ensure follow up on outstanding balances and taking corrective action. + Responsibility for the completion and review of internal and external reporting and audit requirements. + Approves journals, ensuring consistency and completeness of all postings with correct coding, classification and aligned with local accounting standards. + Performs variance analyses for movements on all accounts to keep financials free from probable errors and misstatements. + Support all activities including audits, audits, tax audits. + Acts as key contact for queries concerning accounting and other finance matters. + Maintain adherence to local statutory reporting rules, tax requirements for entities in region and lead communication with external and internal auditors. + Prepares, review and submit government reportsand ad hoc financialinformation requests. + Understanding colleagues needs + Building and strengthening basic partnership relations across areas andgeographies including teamwork and culture (incl. Business Controllers,Treasury, CRBC, Tax, Group Reporting and our auditors) + Articulate collaborator priorities and find opportunities to translate to plans in own process and area. + Continuouslytrainand mentorjuniorteammembersandparticipateinpreparation of cross trainings for other departments/functions. + Support the Team Leaders and FBP Controllers with ad hoc projects, issue resolution, and improvement in execution. **Play your part in our team succeeding** The LEGO Business Service Operations (BSO) is a shared service center thatdelivers HR and Finance services to the entire LEGO Group from 3 locations;Monterrey, Prague and Singapore. The General Ledger (GL) department interacts with outstanding parts of the LEGO organisation and therefore holds a meaningful role within the Business Service Operations (BSO). Supporting the EMEA region. The team handles the general ledger and all related engagements in compliance, involving natural interaction with a wide variety of both internal and external collaborators. The departmental focus is to: + Make sure we live our partner promise by ensuring high quality,stewardship and full compliance with the LEGO Groups currentAccounting Policy and global processes. + Ensure timely, accurate and reliable transactional data recorded ingeneral ledger and timely reconciliation of all accounts. + Assist collaborators both inside and outside the organization by providing meaningful financial analyses, regular statements and reports + GL department enhances The LEGO Group by providing customer-focused GL processes and collaborating with partners, team members, and collaborators, supporting BSO or equivalent experience to add new value to LEGO. + The Senior Specialist plays an important role in developing the best in class General Ledgerdepartment within the BSO. + Seeking individuals who enjoy improving a top-performing department through collaboration, process excellence, and quality. **Do you have what it takes ?** + MSc degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Controlling + Significant working experience from Financefunction + Over two years of proven experience gained in a similar role + Experience with an enterprise wide accounting software system,preferably SAP + Microsoft Office at experienced level + Analytical, detail - and high-quality oriented + Be robust, resilient and ability to embrace changes, as well as having aproactive mind with a can-do attitude. + Validated self-motivation and proactive approach, excellent teamwork abilities and track record of encouraging trust and credibility with assigned business areas or other essential collaborators. + Strong written and spoken English, additional languages are anadvantage + Proven working experience in International accounting environment + Experience with preparation of statutory financial documents + Ability to independently resolve moderate to sophisticated problems + English language \#EL - LI1 Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
