The opportunity
Delaware North Parks and Resorts is searching for a Senior Accounting Manager to join our team supporting our west region locations. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including performing financial reporting, closing the books, consolidating financial results, and performing Accounts Payable invoice approvals. You'll collaborate with our West Region Parks business unit leadership and corporate accounting to continuously improve processes and transitions of work.
PayMinimum \u2013 Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $88,100 - $118,900 / year
In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. Complete audits to ensure compliance.Executes strategies and standards related to accounting policy, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, budgeting, and financial systems and controls.Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes for the business unit.Support the annual plan and projection process for the business unit, provide an insightful review of year-over-year changes, and recommend areas of focus to improve operating margins.Leads or assists with ad hoc analyses of the finances and prepares reports to facilitate decision-making.Perform a variety of complex accounting tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting and other records.Identify Delaware North client exceptions to the standard Accounting processes and identify, in conjunction with business unit leadership, ways to gradually shift clients' expectations toward Delaware North's standard practices.Work closely with the Global Business Services team to continuously improve the efficacy of handoffs or transitions of work.Analyze and report variances and drive month-end accounting duties.Oversee audit requirements and cash management.
More about youBachelor's degree required, preferrably in accounting, business management or finance or relevant prior accounting experience.3+ years of accounting experience (cash management, inventory control, and auditing experience a plus).Hospitality industry accounting experience is highly preferred.Deep understanding of finance and accounting processes.Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Expertise in driving continuous improvement and business process management.Strong computer skills, including MS Office, PeopleSoft Financials Finance Manager, One Stream or similar accounting software.Facilitation, detailed collaboration, and effective communication.
This is a remote position but would prefer the candidate to live in Colorado, Montana or surrounding areas. Quarterly travel is required to the units in the market.
