Job Summary
The Sr. Accountant Systems will act as a business partner between accounting and other departments. They will use their systems experience to system efficiencies, drive processes and GAAP accounting that is pertinent to the financial health of the organization in achieving both short term and long-term financial plans, as well as new sourcing and other strategic cost savings initiatives. This role will act as a thought leader from an accounting perspective and will have a seat at the table with regards to system implementations and maintenance of existing systems. Additionally, they will handle other ad hoc projects as needed for the accounting department and will be a lead in technical accounting areas.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:
Represent the accounting organization’s values and processes providing high quality support to leadership teams Standard Accounting responsibilities including:Account Reconciliations preparationReview of staff work Monthly close responsibilities (accruals, variance analysis, journal entry prep)Ad hoc projectsFinancial statement and footnote disclosure preparation workPolicy and process documentationHelp direct the planning, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of accounting processes. Interpret and recommends modification to existing policies and practices.Provide financial support for new business opportunities. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Help in the assumptions and financial models in coordination with multiple functionsAccounting representative for fleet governanceAccounting representative for vendor reviews/scorecardsAccounting support for RFP creation (if applicable)Navigate multiple systems in the organization for accounting and reporting functionsAdaptive AdministratorBlackline AdministratorData governance-Chart of accounts maintenance and mapping, query building, maintain aircraft, base and department listsSupport the Company’s long-term financial planOther duties as assignedAdditional Job Requirements
Regular scheduled attendanceIndicate the percentage of time spent traveling ~ 10%Subject to applicable laws and Air Method’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position. Actual schedule should be discussed with direct manager, as needed. All employees must follow Air Methods’ employment practices and policies.

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Finance or Accounting; and approximately five or more years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with strong IT knowledgeCPA preferredExperience in Adaptive, Blackline, with SQL, and report writing, proficient in excel preferredSkills
