Job Title: Sr. Accountant
Job Description
The Sr. Accountant will lead the consolidation of accounting processes for license sales across multiple finance teams into a centralized general accounting function. This role involves designing and implementing streamlined processes with strong internal controls, executing month-end close activities, and calculating financial estimates. The Sr. Accountant will support year-end financial statement preparation, reconcile inter-company accounts, collaborate with corporate finance teams, and ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate financial policies. Additionally, the role includes contributing to due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions and participating in ad hoc financial projects.
Responsibilities
+ Lead the consolidation of accounting processes for license sales into a centralized general accounting function.
+ Design and implement streamlined processes with strong internal controls.
+ Execute month-end close activities, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
+ Calculate financial estimates such as reserves, provisions, allocations, and accruals.
+ Support year-end financial statement preparation through detailed account analysis and reconciliations.
+ Prepare and reconcile inter-company accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
+ Collaborate with corporate and business unit finance teams to ensure consistent financial reporting and resolve discrepancies.
+ Develop and maintain documentation for all month-end close procedures.
+ Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate financial policies.
+ Contribute to due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions and assist with purchase accounting and post-acquisition integration.
+ Participate in ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as needed.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of experience in accounting roles, including accounts receivable.
+ Proficiency in accounting principles and practices, including IFRS.
+ Experience with SAP, S4HANA is a plus.
+ Advanced Excel skills, including Vlookups, Xlookups, pivot tables, and nested formulas.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
+ MBA or other relevant degree is a plus.
+ CPA certification is a plus.
+ Experience in the publishing/media industry is a plus.

This position is 100% remote, providing flexibility and the opportunity to work from any location.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of New York, New York.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
