YOU ARE: As a successful candidate for this role, you will have a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), revenue recognition, SOX requirements, and financial analysis.

This is a great opportunity for an accountant seeking to gain experience in various areas of accounting such as treasury, general ledger, revenue recognition, accruals, reserves, financial analysis, subsidiary accounting and others. The Senior Accountant will work closely with other members of the accounting department, other departments and key members of our subsidiary companies.

OUR DAY-TO-DAY: 

Assist in month-end close procedures including preparing journal entries and researching and explaining variancesPerform monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliationsAssist in developing methodologies and processes for and determining and maintaining monthly accruals and reservesAssist in developing and implementing accounting policies/procedures and systemsAssist with audit preparations as well as investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-complianceAssist with special projects and support junior staff as required or assignedMake recommendations for process improvementsWork cross-functionally with other departments and subsidiaries to provide financial insights and relevant reportingAdhere to SOX controls, department policies and complianceBe in the office for the first week of each month for month-end close and other times as neededOther duties as assigned

YOU’LL BRING: 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience2+ years’ experience with a public accounting firm and/or 4+ years’ experience with a public company or large corporationExperience in Excel such as if statements, pivot tables, V/H lookup, index matching functions, etc.Experience with Workday or other similar ERPEffective and clear communicationStrong sense of ownershipExcellent work ethic with solid organizational skillsAbility to work with little to no supervision
