Senior Accountant - Fixed Assets Specialist with German

What you’ll do:

 

The Senior Accountant - Fixed Assets Specialist - German will provide support for all fixed asset related matters. This role will have a strong focus on compliance, standardization of financial processes within the zone and will act as first level escalation for all corporate matters in the zone while working closely with GFSS, COE and finance teams.     

 

Fixed asset activations, maintenance and disposals for all ledgers in Germany & Austria zoneManagement, maintenance, and control of assets under constructionExecution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including booking of depreciation and creation of asset schedulesMonthly reconciliation and documentation of account contents to meet the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and local legislationEvaluation and analysis of profit and loss accounts for capitalizable business transactions and low-value assetsAdditional year-end closing activities within the framework of the HGB financial statements, such as capitalization of low-value asset collective items and assessment of the accounting of leased assetsPreparation, accompaniment, and monitoring of asset inventories, as well as recording necessary bookings; summarizing the results for managementIndependent support of external and internal auditors, as well as the SOX audit team, in all audit activities related to fixed assets. Implementation of projects related to fixed assets, including expansions and restructurings of locations, changes in legislation, and software implementations, etc.Contact person for technical inquiries from production sites/domestic and foreign departments, ad-hoc analyses, and reporting Support business & accounting and controls processes improvements and transitionsSupport all statutory, tax, customs and internal auditsSupport month end closing and monthly reconciliation activitiesEthical standards must be maintained at all times

 

Qualifications and skills:

 

Degree in Accounting / Finance, Master's Degree (professional qualification such as ACCA) is preferred3+ years of relevant work experience in Accounting, FinanceFluent German, at least on B2 level, and fluent in Business EnglishExperience of finance/accounting within a multinational manufacturing environmentExposure to Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and US GAAP and HGB desirableAbility to operate and deliver independentlySelf-starter with initiative and high learning agilityStrongly invested in life-long learningStrong interpersonal and communication skillsStrong technical skills with a high business acumenChange management and continuous improvement mindsetAble to work as part of a team and adhere to company standard processes, practices & policiesComfortable dealing with ambiguity
