Job Description
This position is responsible for performing the accounting and analysis of financials for the company. It involves developing, implementing, and maintaining generally accepted accounting systems. The role includes preparing and analyzing financial reports, journal entries, and maintaining and reconciling ledger accounts while providing records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions.
Responsibilities
Perform advanced accounting tasks such as time billing, payroll, general ledger, tax payments, inventory control, and government job costing.Process payroll general ledger entries for the company.Prepare financial statements, including monthly and quarterly financial reports, and provide weekly forecasts to the Management Team summarizing the current and projected financial position.Conduct month-end and quarterly closing processes, including balance sheets, income, and cash flow statements.Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and investment transactions in conjunction with preparing quarterly reports for management.Assist with annual financial and 401(k) audits by serving as the company liaison with auditors.Communicate with customers to address any past due invoices on their accounts.Produce financial data for the management team upon request and assist with other special accounting projects as needed.Perform monthly analysis of operations.Ensure all active projects are covered by valid, binding contracts.Operate multi-company functions.Essential Skills
5+ years of experience in accounting.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.Proficiency in QuickBooks.Experience with GovCon and joint ventures.Proficiency in billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.Ability to prepare financial statements.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.Strong computer aptitude, including expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word.Experience with accounting software and general ledgers.Analytical skills with particular attention to detail.Work Environment
The company has around 50 employees. This role is part of a team of two, with the other member functioning as a bookkeeper. The position reports to the CEO and works alongside a consultant CFO. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.06 - $40.87/hr.
