Senior Accountant
Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in New Hyde Park, New York. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a strong background in accounting processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The position offers an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. Responsibilities: • Prepare detailed journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes. • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial records. • Reconcile intercompany transactions and develop comprehensive account analyses. • Manage the Fixed Asset module, reconcile records, and maintain up-to-date fixed asset schedules. • Oversee Loans, Mortgages, and Bonds schedules, ensuring reconciliation with the general ledger and amortization schedules. • Allocate cash receipts, record journal entries, and reconcile monthly cash receipts against system reports. • Prepare monthly inventory schedules and ensure alignment with the general ledger. • Support the preparation of audit schedules and assist during year-end audits. • Create and maintain required reports, records, and files to ensure compliance and accuracy. • Take on special projects as assigned while maintaining strict confidentiality. Requirements • Expertise in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations. • Strong proficiency in general ledger management and financial reporting. • Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct accounting software. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including functions and data analysis. • Knowledge of fixed asset management and reconciliation processes. • Familiarity with intercompany transactions and account analysis. • Ability to handle audits and compliance-related tasks with precision. • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive financial data.
