Description Senior Accountant (Hybrid – San Mateo, CA | FinTech | ~6-Month Contract) We are seeking a Senior Accountant for a 6-month contract with a leading organization in the FinTech industry, located in San Mateo, CA. This hybrid role requires two days onsite (Monday & Thursday) and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on core accounting functions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities + Perform high-volume account reconciliations including cash, bank, prepaid, and accrued expenses. + Manage daily cash activity, posting, reconciliation, and reporting. + Maintain amortization schedules and ensure proper accounting for prepaids and accruals. + Conduct detailed flux/variance analysis to explain financial trends and anomalies. + Support month-end close, including journal entries, audit prep, and tax documentation. + Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize accounting processes and uphold compliance. Requirements Qualifications + 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in financial services, SaaS/subscription-based, or inventory-focused industries. + Strong command of month-end close processes, cash flow, and general ledger management. + Proven expertise in NetSuite and advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, etc.). + Experience with prepaids, accruals, reconciliations, and amortization accounting. + Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently. + Must pass a background check.
