YOUR IMPACT

 

As a member of OpenText’s Corporate Accounting team, you will take a lead role in preparing timely and accurate management and operational financial reports. This will include recording and analyzing the company expense related to employees in the company GL and account reconciliations. You will also assist in ensuring standard processes are properly documented and functioning as expected. You will identify areas for process improvement and be involved with integration project teams based on your experience. You may also be called upon to work on special projects throughout the year.

 

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

 

Prepare payroll journal entries to record the company expense related to employees into the company GLPrepare corporate accruals related to employees into the company GLAnalyze month over month and quarter over quarter variances of relevant payroll accounts and prepare commentary for management reporting purposesPrepare balance sheet account reconciliations with an understanding as to the underlying detail.Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are up to date, easy to understand and that historical items are cleared in a timely manner.Develop close working relationships with cross functional teams.Act as SME for Corporate Accounting on integration project teams.Act as a mentor to new team members.Complete other special projects and identify areas for improvement as required.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

 

Bachelor’s or College degree in Accounting (CPA is preferred)5-8 years of related experience with solid US GAAP/ accounting knowledgeStrong understanding of payroll processes is an asset.Computer literate with high proficiency in MS Office applications – Excel is required. Experience in SAP is requiredDetail-oriented work, and able to perform under tight timelines and with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently with minimum supervision and as a co-operative team member.Effectively communicating information and ideas, particularly in written correspondence.Considering various options and taking a holistic view to contribute to solutions.Demonstrating logic and analytical skills with the ability to identify and solve problems.
