About the Job: Manage activities related to the financial close, financial systems, asset accounting and financial reporting.
A day in the life, what you’ll be doing:
Recruit, lead, motivate and develop team to perform financial close accounting tasks with a high level of efficiency and accuracy. Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual close process and execution of related controls including overseeing the reconciliation process and core JE listing. Ensure the accurate and timely capture of financial transactions including internal and external system interfaces. Provide direction to accountants and analysts in resolving issues and discrepancies. Responsible for definition and use of financial systems and development of accounting processes to maximize efficiency in high volume production environment. Support financial systems implementations and upgrades with requirements gathering and testing. Oversee lease accounting, including operating lease accounting, rent expense, forecasting and reporting and lease accounting in compliance with ASC842 Manage the development and maintenance of reporting hierarchies and Infor CSF and Infor Business Intelligence (BI) reports. Maintain and develop complex Excel PC reporting models using database functions and macros. Support General Accounting compliance with Sarbanes Oxley reporting and control requirements and maintain the general ledger business process narratives and SOD Matrix Provide the above services in a cost-effective manner, continually seeking out opportunities to improve services and reduce costs. Assist with other financial reporting projects as needed.
What it takes to Join:
BA or BS in Accounting/Finance. Minimum 5-10 years progressive Accounting experience including managing the financial close process. CPA helpful but not required. Combination of public accounting and private accounting experience a plus. Retail accounting experience a plus. Ability to understand broad business and financial issues. Thorough understanding of accounting transactions from source through subsidiary ledgers, into the general ledger and ultimately to the financial reports. Thorough understanding of financial statements and their relationship. Strong accounting, analytical skills and reasoning skills. Strong leadership skills and experience. Strong system skills/understanding - Infor CSF, Microsoft D365, Microsoft PowerSuite, Blackline, and strong PC skills (Excel, Word, Access) and ability to work with large amounts of data and efficiently develop financial models. Proven ability to work well with others, and interface comfortably with all levels of management, within the company and with subsidiary Companies. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong time management and prioritization skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Salary Range: $90,000-$97,375

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. As a National Retailer, occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required during periods of high volume. This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
