Job Description
The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in managing accounting records and ensuring compliance with financial procedures, laws, and regulations. This position involves overseeing accounts payable, managing fixed assets, reconciling ledgers, and preparing documentation for external audits. The role contributes to annual audits, monthly reconciliations, payroll management, budget development, and financial reporting.
ResponsibilitiesManage accounting records and ensure compliance with financial laws and regulations.Oversee accounts payable and expense reimbursement resources.Manage fixed assets and perform general ledger and bank reconciliations.Prepare documentation for external auditors and contribute to annual audits.Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.Manage payroll for the institution and affiliate customers.Support the development of the budget and production of management reporting.Assist in monthly general ledger close and financial statement preparation within 5-7 business days of month-end.Monitor, review, and reconcile official and general ledger accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.Assist in the preparation of regulatory and audit reports.Assist with NCUA FRB opinion exams/audit cycles and resolution of findings.Perform HTM payroll and biweekly AHM/HFCU payroll entries and reconciliations.Handle monthly benefits entries and reconciliations.Manage annual capital expenditures budgeting, projections, and tracking.Manage tax-related programs, primarily for employee state and federal taxes.Essential SkillsStrong accounting and general ledger skills.Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience.BS degree in Accounting or Finance.Fixed asset and tax experience.Analytical skills and process optimization.Additional Skills & QualificationsMBA or CPA preferred.Work Environment
The role requires working in a professional office environment, utilizing accounting software and tools to manage financial records and reports. The position demands attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines within a structured timeframe.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
