Job Description
The Sr. Accountant is responsible for the preparation of the company’s financial statements, ensuring quality control over all financial transactions, and maintaining accounting systems in line with GAAP. This role involves overseeing month-end and year-end closing processes, coordinating duties among accounting staff, and providing training and guidance to ensure efficient and knowledgeable work performance.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare the company's financial statements.Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.Complete monthly bank reconciliations for various bank accounts.Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes and assign duties to accounting staff as needed.Ensure proper, complete, and accurate record-keeping of accounting transactions according to GAAP.Provide training, guidance, and direction to employees.Update contracts with company members and communicate changes to the accounting staff.Monitor and ensure timely payment of company benefits to insurance carriers and accurate employee withholding deductions.Prepare and provide financial statements, sales reports, commission reports, and other reports as needed.Confer with upper management on budgeting and strategies to meet goals and objectives.Record and ensure payment of all debt service obligations.Maintain good relations with customers, vendors, banking institutions, auditors, and affiliates.Work closely with financial institutions regarding banking activity changes and enhancements.Essential Skills3+ years of experience in month-end closing, journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and Vlookups.Experience with general ledger reconciliation and financial reporting.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $45.67/hr.
