Job Description
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a vital role in the premium insurance team, focusing on reporting for various carriers to aid in the evaluation of risk, profit, and losses. This position involves performing complex reconciliations and managing large data sets, while also handling external correspondence with carriers. You will be responsible for trust flows, trade accounting, and working with numerous bank accounts in a permanent role that backfills a previous employee.
ResponsibilitiesPerform complex reconciliations for various carriers.Manage and analyze large data sets (100,000 rows +).Handle external correspondence with carriers.Work with trust flows and trade accounting across multiple bank accounts.Ensure compliance within strict industry regulations.Maintain schedule-driven reporting on a 30-day cycle.Communicate effectively with carriers to resolve issues.Collaborate closely with the CFO to implement new processes.Essential SkillsAccounting education, working towards CPA.3-5 years of experience in complex reconciliations.Proficiency in Power Query and Excel.Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.Experience in a compliance-heavy industry such as banking or insurance.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience within the insurance industry.CPA certification.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Team-oriented with strong communication skills.Work Environment
The role reports to the Controller and is part of a team of senior accountants within a larger operational team. Work closely with the CFO in a high-paced and dynamic setting. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in-office, located on the 29th floor with stunning mountain views and an open floor plan. The office is conveniently accessible via the C Train and connected to the +15, providing a structured and professional environment that encourages collaboration and growth.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
