We are a prominent manufacturing company in Ontario, CA, focused on delivering high-quality products and innovative solutions for our customers. As a key contributor to our growth and success, the Finance and Accounting team is integral in driving financial strategy, maintaining accurate reporting, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. This seasoned professional will leverage their expertise in manufacturing accounting to contribute to the financial health of our organization, ensure accurate reporting, and provide key insights to management.
Month-End and Year-End Close Activities:
Prepare, review, and post journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations in alignment with company policies and GAAP principles (Source: SG25 US Finance and Accounting).
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
Analyze variances within manufacturing overhead costs, standard costing, and inventory accounts.
Cost Accounting and Inventory Management:
Maintain and analyze standard costs, including updates for material, labor, and overhead.
Perform cost variance analysis to help control production costs and improve operational efficiencies.
Oversee physical inventory counts and reconciliations.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports to present key findings and insights to senior leadership.
Ensure adherence to all regulatory and corporate compliance standards.
Assist in internal and external audits, providing requested documentation and explanations.
ERP and Systems Utilization:
Manage ERP system function and reporting, identifying areas for improvement and enhanced reporting (Source: SG25-TREND 5).
Support the integration and alignment of new technology, such as AI platforms, to streamline financial processes.
Team Leadership and Improvement Initiatives:
Mentor accounting staff and support their professional growth (Source: SG25 TREND 5- "Implementing mentoring programs").
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and procurement, to provide financial guidance for decision-making.
Special Projects:
Participate in system implementation, process improvement initiatives, and ad hoc financial analysis to support company objectives.
Requirements
Education and Professional Certifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
+ CPA designation or MBA preferred
Experience:
+ 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
+ Strong expertise in cost accounting and inventory management within manufacturing industries.
Skills and Technical Knowledge:
+ Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms)
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with advanced modeling and analytical capabilities
+ Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
+ Ability to communicate financial insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
