Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the accurate completion of the day-to-day functions of the accounting department. Ensures complete, accurate, timely, and consistent financial reporting. Ensures compliance with organizational and governmental policies and procedures.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for day to day accounting and monthly close activities including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly variance analysis.
+ Assist with manufacturing analysis and reporting.
+ Work with other regions on necessary Inter-Company reconciliations.
+ Recommend enhancements to general accounting activities to ensure compliance with organizational and governmental policies and procedures and to ensure the most cost effective and efficient operations
+ Implement process and automation improvements to reduce reconciliation efforts
+ Advise staff regarding the non-routine reporting transactions
+ Other duties and tasks may be assigned
Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:
+ 3-5 years’ of general accounting experience
+ Experience with large integrated accounting software is required; JD Edwards is a plus
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and Office
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Strong customer service skills
+ Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
Education/Certifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field or equivalent work experience
Physical Working Environment:
The position works in a climate controlled office environment and requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time.
