Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our toy distributor's dynamic finance team. This pivotal role will contribute significantly to financial reporting, analysis, and strategic planning processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a meticulous approach to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Manage and oversee general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP.
+ Lead and execute month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
+ Conduct in-depth financial analysis and reporting, providing actionable insights to management for decision-making.
+ Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities, tracking actual performance against budget and analyzing variances.
+ Prepare and review complex account reconciliations, ensuring all balances are properly supported.
+ Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting department.
+ Assist in the development and implementation of new accounting policies and procedures.
+ Support various ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as required.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
+ Solid understanding and practical application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
+ Proven experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
+ Experience with NetSuite or Oracle
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to present financial information clearly.
+ Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
