Description Job Description: Senior Accountant Location: Washington, DC Salary: $85K-95K My client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant for an established organization in Washington, DC. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take on dynamic challenges. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, driving compliance, and improving processes. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare, analyze, and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP. + Oversee general ledger accounting, including journal entries and account reconciliations. + Manage fixed asset accounting and reporting, ensuring proper capitalization and depreciation schedules. + Lead financial reporting and forecasting to support strategic decision-making. + Collaborate across departments to ensure accurate budget preparation and variance analysis. + Streamline accounting processes and support automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency. + Ensure compliance with internal controls and external audit requirements. + Utilize ERP systems and explore workflow automation tools like Alteryx to enhance reporting and data analysis capabilities. + Communicate financial insights and recommendations effectively with cross-functional stakeholders. Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification required. + 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on fixed asset management. + Advanced proficiency in GAAP standards and fixed asset accounting principles. + Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. + Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. + Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial teams.
