Your New Role

The Senior Accountant, Streaming Content Revenue will be a member of the Streaming Accounting Controllership team based in Mexico City, Mexico. This team provides support for the licensing and distribution of intellectual property (IP) for HBO and Max, including “functional IP” such as a produced film or television series and “symbolic IP” such as a character or brand. The DTC Content Revenue team also supports Consumer Products where the HBO and Max brand is licensed to other parties for merchandise and e-commerce sales including apparel, accessories, and mobile games. This team is responsible for accounting functions including revenue recognition, inter-company transactions, third party liabilities as well as the related distribution, participations, and residuals expenses. The DTC Content Revenue team works with key stakeholders throughout the business, including Warner Bros Distribution Accounting, Contract Administration, Content Finance, Technical Accounting, Financial Systems, Operations, Line of Business and Consolidated Financial Reporting. 

Your Role Accountabilities

Prepare daily, monthly, and quarterly Content Licensing and Consumer Product accounting deliverables in accordance with US GAAP and Company policies and practicesPrepare journal entries in PeopleSoft, Oracle and/or SAP S4 Hana (including project ledger)Prepare and analyze intercompany transactions and reportingPerform analysis of participations and residuals accruals and liabilitiesPrepare monthly subledger to general ledger reconciliationsPrepare quarterly SEC Reporting and tax packagesAnalyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvementCultivate strong internal partnerships within accounting, finance, and other business departmentsAssist internal and external audit in their various quarterly and year-end audit procedures, as requestedOther ad-hoc tasks and / or special projects, as needed / required



Qualifications & Experiences

Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financeBS/BA in Accounting from an accredited college or universityKnowledge of US GAAPUnderstanding of Sarbanes-Oxley and experience with SOX controlsStrong understanding of financial systems with ability to learn and master new system toolsAttention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skillsStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsCapacity to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines while balancing competing deliverablesStrong Excel skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMust be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional team members at all levelsWillingness to learn and accept new or unfamiliar tasksActive CPA license or local equivalent, or on a path towards license attainment

Big 4 accounting firm experience or experience at a publicly traded companyFilm and media / entertainment accounting experienceStrong business acumen working in a multinational companyOracle or SAP S/4 HANA knowledge is a plusExperience in automating manual processes
