We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Academic Administrator to oversee educational programs for K-12. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of curriculum development, and a commitment to academic excellence. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

Serve as a subject matter expert for State Department of Education certification and compliance laws and regulations.Manage and ensure accuracy of Course Management Database, Teacher Certification Management System, and Learning Management Systems.Provide general leadership and mentorship to instructional Academic Administrators and instructional staff through oversite of data meeting processes, individual and team meetings.Balance teacher loads according to state laws, fiscal responsibility, and workforce management principles.Determine staffing needs and FTE adjustments based on state laws and regulations, enrollment trends, and potential new clients.Directly oversee PTO requests for assigned teachersCreate and manage requisitions, oversee recruitment of all teachers, facilitate digital interviews, and determine new hire placement.Ensure certification submissions meet requirements for all new hires and re-certifications.Actively participate in training and professional development activities.Conduct monthly observations of teaching sessions and provide feedback to teachers and management.Research and implement non-K12 curriculum resources as needed to meet state standards.Manage teaching and administrative staff effectively.Articulate the school’s mission and vision to ensure stakeholders have a common understanding and are positioned to work cooperatively.Confers with teachers, students, and parents concerning educational and behavioral issues.Ensure the school meets the needs of students while complying with local, state, and federal laws, including laws pertaining to special education.Develop and oversee implementation of the school’s Academic Improvement Plan.Develop meaningful relationships with school and district staff to promote effective teaching, student achievement, and a safe environment.Cultivate a collaborative working environment that encourages communication, innovation, and refinement of instructional practices.Review monthly reports to identify areas of concern and create actionable plans to address them.Monitor departmental compliance with accountability measures.Contribute to industry thought leadership through participation in pilot programs, conferences, and literature on online learning.Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits and respect for others.Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Directly supervises 4-6 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree AND3 or more years of experience in an Assistant Principal or Principal position, or experience in a Virtual School in Supervisory-level role with a willingness to begin an Educational Leadership Certification within the first year

Certificates and Licenses: Valid North Carolina state license required.

Master’s DegreeValid Professional Educational Leadership CertificateDemonstrated experience in supervision, training, and development of teachersPossesses knowledge of technical systems used within the organization

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
