Senior 2nd Level IT Support Specialist – Platform Product Edge

We are looking for an experienced and technically proficient Senior 2nd Level IT Support Specialist to join our team and play a pivotal role in the implementation and problem management of our cutting-edge Platform Product Edge. This role is designed for a professional with advanced technical expertise in system administration, network troubleshooting, and Kubernetes, as well as foundational development skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our platform while delivering exceptional customer support and resolving complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

o   Customer Implementation Support

·         Serve as the primary technical liaison during the onboarding of customers to the Platform Product Edge.

·         Manage the configuration, deployment, and integration of platform solutions into customer environments.

·         Provide expert-level support to address technical issues that arise during customer implementations.

o   Problem Management & Resolution

·         Investigate, diagnose, and resolve escalated technical problems related to the Platform Product Edge, ensuring minimal disruption to customer operations.

·         Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents and implement preventive measures to mitigate future risks.

·         Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop long-term solutions for complex technical challenges.

o   System Administration & IT Operations

·         Execute system updates, patches and configurations to maintain platform stability and security.

·         Monitor system performance metrics and proactively address potential bottlenecks or vulnerabilities.

·         Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to enhance operational efficiency.

o   Network Troubleshooting & Optimization

·         Leverage advanced networking knowledge to troubleshoot connectivity issues, optimize performance, and ensure secure data transmission across networks.

·         Analyze network traffic patterns using tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump to identify anomalies or inefficiencies.

·         Work with customers to resolve Layer 2/Layer 3 networking issues and ensure seamless integration with their infrastructure.

o   Kubernetes Cluster Management

·         Perform basic configuration and troubleshooting of Kubernetes clusters to support containerized applications on the platform.

·         Collaborate with Development teams to ensure Kubernetes environments align with operational requirements and best practices.

o   Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

·         Create comprehensive documentation for technical processes, troubleshooting guides, and best practices.

·         Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives by mentoring junior team members and conducting training sessions on platform-related topics.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience in system administration, IT operations, and advanced troubleshooting methodologies. Strong expertise in networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and tools for network diagnostics. Basic development skills in scripting or programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Shell scripting (no full-stack development). Hands-on experience with Kubernetes clusters for deployment, scaling, and troubleshooting containerized workloads. Analytical mindset with a methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNP/CCNA, or Kubernetes Certified Administrator (CKA). Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or container orchestration tools like Azure Arc. Experience working in an Agile environment or using ITIL frameworks for incident management.
