The Sales Support Specialist is a key member of our Inside Sales Team, Small Business Insurance. This role is responsible for driving business growth through the sales acquisition process. Our ideal candidate is a highly organized, excellent communicator who can quickly build rapport with customers, and who has a strong desire to succeed.

This role is an entry point into our Sales and Underwriting organization, offering opportunities to develop the skills necessary for advancement into a Sales or Underwriting career.


WORK ARRANGEMENT/SCHEDULE:

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office (Hartford, CT; Clinton, NY; San Antonio, TX; Scottsdale, AZ) three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
We will also consider remote workers in the following mountain and pacific time zone states: CA, ID, UT, MT, CO, NV, NM, OR, WA, WY.
Your schedule during training will be:

Eastern Standard Time (EST): 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Central Standard Time (CST): 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Pacific Standard Time (PST): 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Your schedule after training will be:

Eastern Standard Time (EST): 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Central Standard Time (CST): 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Pacific Standard Time (PST): 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Partner with the Inside Sales Team in the sales acquisition process.

Build leads, accept inbound calls, assign leads, and schedule call-backs to small business owners. No cold calling is performed.

Put the customer first by building strong relationships and being responsive, including through online chat.

Follow up on open quotes, close the sale, and communicate outcomes to the Inside Sales Team.

Position and sell The Hartford's value proposition including its long- standing history, broad coverage offering and exceptional claims service.

Support a high performing sales culture. Act with confidence, operate nimbly, prioritize, and manage daily work activities.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Call center experience preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Competitive nature and strong desire to win.

Goal oriented and metric focused.

Demonstration of solid time, organizational, and desk management skills with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.   

Ability to prioritize calls from an inbound phone queue. 

Strong written communication skills, in conjunction with the ability to make outbound calls to both internal and external customers, to convert opportunities.

COMPENSATION:

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$46,000 - $69,000

INTERNET REQUIREMENTS:  

 For full-time, occasional, part-time, or remote positions: (1) high speed broadband internet service is required, we do not recommend or support DSL, wireless, Wi-Fi, Hotspots, Fiber without a modem and Satellite; (2) Internet provider supplied modem/router/gateway is hardwired to the Hartford issued computer with an ethernet cable; and (3) 100MB download/10MB upload.  Contact/Call center role using Genesys softphone and Citrix/ATO users.  Users who participate in frequent Teams video conferences, as well as those who download/upload large file content throughout the workday.
