Within the North America Field Production organization, execute established Small Seed Vegetables (SSV) seed production orders to assure that Syngenta has a consistent, timely and reliable supply of high-quality seed in the Cage Production Program and/or Commercial Open Field. Manage and Deliver successful production results of critical genetics in the Sacramento Valley region, through direct growers and third-party vendors.
Responsibilities
Geographically, contract required production volumes with growers and/or vendors to maximize yield, minimize freight costs and deliver seed, meeting all standards and specificationsDevelop and maintain grower and vendor relationships, both internal and external to drive increased yields and qualityUnderstand species and variety characteristics, seed quality standards and crop delivery requirements to optimize seed availabilitiesDevelop and implement programs regarding agronomic issues in production fields including weed, disease and insect programs, and timely field inspection programsGeneral administrative management duties including collecting – preparing – inputting data for reportsFoster an operational culture founded on adherence to all applicable HSE and other corporate policies, procedures and guidelinesWork with FPR and GPCS’s to test/implement new production concepts and techniques in Protected Culture (Cage/Net House) and Open Field ProductionsRemain current with latest production technology and develop specialized skills (i.e., systems, data analysis, equipment maintenance, fertility, irrigation mgmt., etc.) to support vendors and parent seed programCross functional knowledge and experience of plant activities: conditioning, treating, packaging, warehouse and distribution activitiesCompany Description

Qualifications
Critical knowledge
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy Business/Plant Science or related field; equivalent professional experience and/or training in addition to the experience requirement will be consideredTypically requires 3 years of related experienceFluent in English (spoken and written). Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not requiredCritical experience

Salary Range: $66,400 - $99,600 per year
