Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Seed Logistics Specialist, based in Grimes, Iowa. Do you like challenges and solving problems? If so, we have a perfect position for you, and you might want to keep reading. We are looking for a Seed Logistics Specialist to join our awesome team. This person will be responsible for assisting the seed logistics specialist in ordering, sourcing, evaluating warehouse inventory, drop shipping, seed request, and ensuring timelines are maintained. You will work with several diverse groups to track, report, and manage seed movement throughout North America. You will work closely with the operations team to ensure a seamless flow of data and seed.
What You'll Do:
Oversee the seed order process, including ordering, sourcing, and planning the movement of seeds from research and commercial production sites.
Monitor and track seed shipments from the point of order to their destination, ensuring both quality and location are maintained.
Manage seed inventory by maintaining high-quality sources, conducting proper phytosanitary lab testing, adhering to retention timelines, and identifying sources for discard
Assist in the demand planning process by capturing customer demand requirements and coordinating with production suppliers to ensure demand fulfillment
Coordinate the sourcing of orders and seed requests for internal and external customers by analyzing specifications, ensuring regulatory and intellectual property compliance, assessing quality traits, and managing supply
Monitor, update, and document processes
Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements
Maintain accurate Inventory source records using ERP, web-based, and Windows-based systems.
Create reports for various platforms, including Power BI and SQL.
Contribute to the development of software tools currently in progress.
Assist with other research centers planning operations during downtime from core responsibilities..
Ensure all activities under your responsibility comply with safety and regulatory standards, as well as company safety policies, protocols, and procedures.
What Skills You Need:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Agribusiness, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or equivalent
Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Office suite, and web-based applications and/or ERP system is required.
Excellent communication skills, adept at using standard software programs and learning internal data systems.
Basic troubleshooting skills for databases.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Flexibility to work extended days and weekends at critical times of the season.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
