The Opportunity

As a Securities Trade and Reconciliation Operations Analyst, you will play a critical role in a fast-paced, complex, and collaborative environment, where you will apply your investment knowledge and technical skills as a member of the Trade Operations and Reconciliation team.  This role offers the ability to learn the overall flow of data in the investment ecosystem and offers opportunity to work with teams across the organization that utilize investment data.  The nature of the work will require perseverance, accountability, attention to detail and the ability to react to ever-changing business needs.

The Team


As a member of the Trade Operations and Reconciliation team, you will provide essential support for the Investment Data Ecosystem which includes troubleshooting and resolving issues with security trades, reference data, critical data elements, reporting and month end investment close processes.  This role offers the opportunity to partner with teams around the organization to identify and implement process and data improvements.  You will understand the importance of investment data quality and look for opportunities to continuously improve processes.  

The Securities Trade and Reconciliation team is part of the Positions and Pricing Oversight team, a part of the MassMutual Investment Operations department within the Investment Management division.   The Securities Trade and Reconciliation team oversees the daily processing of security trades for all assets in MassMutual’s General Investment Account (GIA) as well as partners closely with Investment Accounting, Tax Accounting and Enterprise Risk Management to address and resolve data related issues.

The Impact

Monitoring trade ingestion from all sources into the investment accounting system, resolve issues ‘on the fly’ or work with respective business partners to resolve issues.Understand and maintain security master file (SMF) data and update as needed.Process manual trade activity when needed and follow appropriate controls.Perform trade and SMF reconciliations, identify breaks and root cause for remediation, escalate to the appropriate partners when needed.Develop business knowledge of other transaction types such as corporate actions, paydowns and income payments to understand how activity flows through the system.You will be expected to work independently and be a key resource for resolution of unique or complex business problems such as data issues within Eagle but also external data issues and working with others on resolutions.Manage multiple priorities, communicate and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders across the organization, and deliver on your commitments.

The Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related area3+ years of experience in investment operations

Understanding of investment operations processes and related data workflowsStrong documentation skillsStrong collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team-based environment Knowledge of Investment Operations ecosystemsKnowledge of Eagle PACE or similar financial data management toolKnowledge of Eagle STAR or similar investment accounting platformExpert user of ExcelKnowledge of SQL/Oracle query toolsMicroStrategy, or other reporting tool experience a plusAbility to perform independent research and serve as a key resource for resolution of unique or complex business problemsStrong multi-tasking skills, ability to adapt to change and manage competing prioritiesStrong analytical skills

Salary Range: $90,500.00-$118,700.00
