Summary Reemployed annuitant: This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Responsibilities Assists in initiating and processing personnel security investigation forms for new and current employees Reviews and verifies security forms and documentation for accuracy and completeness. Maintain security records and ensure data is entered into internal and external security databases. Assists with visit certification processing. Assists in the processing of System Authorization Access Request Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement. You must meet the minimum qualification requirements as stated in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/Standards/group-stds/gs-prof.asp. Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume. Specialized experience includes duties such as gathering and compiling information; reviewing paperwork for accuracy errors and completeness; aiding senior level management and other personnel operating various computer programs databases to produce program actions (IE credit checks security screenings criminal checks etc); maintaining the security of sensitive files and records. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: One full year of graduate level education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement when education is directly related to the position being filled or superior academic achievement. Background Investigation: All selectees will be subject to a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). You must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance eligibility at the Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) level. You will be subject to a random counterintelligence scope polygraph. Performance Appraisal: If you are a current Federal employee, you must be rated fully successful or higher on your current performance rating to be eligible for promotion.
