Responsibilities Assists in initiating and processing personnel security investigation forms for new and current employees Reviews and verifies security forms and documentation for accuracy and completeness. Maintain security records and ensure data is entered into internal and external security databases. Assists with visit certification processing. Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-05 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume. Specialized experience includes duties such as gathering and compiling information; reviewing paperwork for accuracy errors and completeness; aiding senior level management and other personnel operating various computer programs databases to produce program actions (IE credit checks security screenings criminal checks etc); maintaining the security of sensitive files and records. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: One full year of graduate level education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement when education is directly related to the position being filled or superior academic achievement. You will be subject to a random counterintelligence scope polygraph. Performance Appraisal: If you are a current Federal employee, you must be rated fully successful or higher on your current performance rating to be eligible for promotion.
