Summary You will serve as a Security Specialist of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT. Responsibilities You will serve as primary assistant to the Security Manager and is responsible for the administrative support for the Industrial Security Program. You will assist in the evaluation of the sensitivity classification for positions by applying the sensitivity criteria. You will compile information for submission to the Security Manager for determination whether clearances should be granted, suspended, revoked or denied as appropriate. You will manage and protects classified information, documents and material. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-11 I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying a thorough knowledge of performing analytical, planning, advisory, operational, or evaluative work that has as its principal purpose the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss equivalent to the next lower grade level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as the following: 1)Reviewing and implementing security instructions as they relate to Industrial and Personnel Security to ensure security compliance; Reviewing, analyzing and resolving problems using security concepts, principles and practices; 2)Planning and implementing protective methods and security procedures using security equipment, devices and databases; 3)Coordinating reports and adjudicating security violations for potential security compromises of classified information; 4)Managing an established security awareness and education program to ensure proper security information dissemination; and 5) Interpreting new or existing security instructions and review/implement and/or rewrite procedures pertaining to the work of the security department. GS-09 I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying a thorough knowledge of provisions as they relate to Personnel, Information, and Industrial Security. Examples of specialized experience include the following; 1. Reviewing and implanting security instructions as they relate to Personnel, Information and Industrial Security to ensure security compliance; 2. experience compiling information for submission to the Security Manager for determination whether clearances should be granted, suspended, revoked or denied as appropriate; 3. Planning and implementing protective methods and security procedures using security equipment, devices and databases; 4. assists in the review of containers or classified areas for compliance to security requirements and maintain recording systems for all classified storage containers and areas; and 6. Interpreting new or existing security instructions and review/ implement and/or rewrite procedures pertaining to the work of the security department.
