Summary The primary purpose of the is position is: To serve as unit security manager, providing personnel, information, physical, operations, information systems, special access, and special category security program functions in accordance with DoD and Air Force regulations, directives, and other security related publications. Responsibilities DUTY 1: Implements and administers the Information Security Program for the unit. DUTY 2: Develop, direct, and evaluate the Personnel Security Program for the unit. DUTY 3: Develop, direct, and evaluate unit's Operations Security (OPSEC) Program. Implement and administer the physical security program for the unit. DUTY 4: Administers and implements the Information Systems Security Program. Implement, organize, and conduct the unit Security Education Program. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Administrative and Management" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, independently analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems; apply policy direction to contractors and government/military officials, and develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various levels or degrees of security controls. Knowledge of a broad range of security program relationships, and expe11ise in information, personnel, and industrial security to effectively implement and administer applicable security programs and /or coordinate with other specialized security programs. Knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, and eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information to review plans for proposed or new projects, organizations, and /or missions to assure the presence of adequate planning for information security and other controls. Ability to plan and carry out reviews of unit and/or contractor security programs, analyze, and evaluate reports and conditions to recommend remedial actions. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Comprehensive knowledge of information, operations, personnel, physical and special security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas. Advanced knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs. Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the unit. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: Position requires occasional temporary duty travel (CONUS and OCONUS), utilizing any or all modes of commercial and military transportation. Requires possessing and maintaining a valid State Driver's License to enable operation of government and privately owned motor vehicles. Drug Testing: This position is designated.by the Air Force as a Test Designated Position (TOP) under the Air Force Drug Testing Program. As a mandatory requirement for employment in this TOP, the incumbent is to refrain from use of illegal drugs and if requested, to submit to urinalyses testing. Incumbent must sign a statement acknowledging the position occupied is Testing Designated Position. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
