Our work depends on a Security Solutions Engineer joining our team to analyze design, develop, implement, and support code for our government customer, the United States Postal Service.

   

HOW A SECURITY SOLUTIONS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

In this role, a typical day will include:

Provide technical leadership to deliver enterprise security architecture, engineering, and implementation. This role is action and solution oriented with an emphasis Edge Security protection, and moving Edge Security into automation and LLM.Experience with implementing security protections and understanding of how to implement certificate automations in large enterprisesProvide guidance and leadership to determine, develop, plan, test, and implement protection and security requirements for the enterpriseCollaborate with business and IT staff to understand strategic and tactical business, application, or service requirements, then translate those into securely designed solutionsAbility to propose and implement creative solutions to automate the elimination of malicious activity that occurs in the environment.Provide technical guidance, oversight, and enforcement of security directives, policies, standards, plans, and proceduresDevelop project documentation including detailed security plans, detailed security implementation and deployment plans, test plans, and security-focused operational procedures and training materialsPrepare justifications and business cases for recommendations on Cybersecurity initiativesGood communication skills, both oral and writtenDevelop and present program status / metrics to USPS managementIdentify roadblocks and propose effective solutions

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, preferred but not required.NOTE: If resources do not have a relevant college degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.

Required Experience:

7+ years of security or cybersecurity experience.Complete change control assessmentsIdentify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tacticsIntegrate change control activities into project planDefine and measure success metrics and monitor change progressExperience and knowledge of change control principles, methodologies, and toolsAbility for problem solving and root cause identification skillsMust be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others

Security Clearance Level:

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprintingThis position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.
