**Summary** **Security Police Officer** _Chen_ _ega – NASA Protective Services_ Chenega is seeking highly trained **Security Police Officers (SPOs)** to support **NASA** ’s mission by providing armed protective services at federal installations. SPOs are responsible for enforcing federal and state laws, responding to emergencies, conducting patrols and inspections, managing access control, and safeguarding NASA personnel, property, and equipment. This role requires completion of NASA-specific training and may include federal arrest authority and participation in the Federal Magistrate Program. Officers will be equipped with firearms and must demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and a commitment to public safety in a dynamic federal environment. **Responsibilities** + Adhere to all company personnel and safety policies, performing duties in a safe and professional manner. + Report to duty in proper uniform with all issued equipment, maintaining cleanliness and readiness. + Exercise appropriate use of force, up to and including deadly force, when necessary. + Participate in Guard Mount, receive post assignments, and follow general and special orders. + Provide access control, traffic enforcement, and conduct armed patrols (walking and motorized). + Conduct inspections of personnel, vehicles, buildings, and packages in accordance with NASA regulations. + Communicate effectively via radio, telephone, and in person with the public and government personnel. + Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** + High School Diploma or GED; must be at least 21 years of age. + Preferred 1–3 years of full-time experience in military, law enforcement, or security. + Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Florida driver’s license and meet drug/alcohol-free workforce standards. + Must complete NASA Basic Training School (NBTS) prior to armed post assignment and obtain ERO Certification. + ICS-100 and ICS-200 certifications required within 120 days of appointment. + Must qualify and maintain proficiency with firearms and meet NASA physical and psychological certification standards. + Must successfully complete the Initial Physical Agility Test (IPAT).
