· Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando

· Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America

The role you’ll contribute:

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Security Operations Center (SOC) personnel monitor Security Operations across all campuses of the AdventHealth Orlando central market 24 hours a day, and ensure ongoing emergency and routine incidents or situations are appropriately communicated, and/or elevated, to the appropriate line staff, Supervisors, Managers, and Administration as each situation requires. Under the direction of the SOC Manager, the SOC Supervisor is responsible for supervision of the Security Dispatcher, Biomed, Engineering, and Patient Transport operators and daily operational activities of the SOC. The SOC Supervisor ensures consistency and professionalism in communications with customers.

· Maintains effective and efficient operation of the Security Operations Center by monitoring Security Dispatcher, Biomed, Engineering, and Patient Transport operators work performance, ensuring that routine and emergent calls are answered promptly, prioritized, and dispatched accordingly

· Mentors Security Dispatcher, Biomed, Engineering, and Patient Transport operators to cultivate a work environment with high standards, accountability, and employee engagement

· Develops and maintains working relationships with Security Leadership and Supervisors, and AdventHealth Orlando team members and partners

· Keeps the SOC Manager apprised of any significant incidents or matters involving the SOC and personnel

· Ensures supplies are available and equipment is in proper working order in the SOC

· Performs preliminary preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of security systems as required

· Coordinates scheduling of all Security Dispatcher, Biomed, Engineering, and Patient Transport operators for 24-hour operations

· Investigates and researches service delivery and performance related inquiries or complaints concerning the SOC

· Maintains proficiencies required of Security Dispatcher, Biomed, Engineering, and Patient Transport operators and works in the role of a Security Dispatcher, Biomed, Engineering, and Patient Transport operators as necessary or required based on periods of increased call activity, foreknown staffing availability, and special events

· Conducts on-the-job training and documents daily progress for newly hired Security Dispatcher, Biomed, Engineering, and Patient Transport operators in accordance with the SOC Training Program

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED :

· Good verbal and written communication skills and working knowledge of English grammar and spelling

· Ability to supervise personnel and complete tasks and projects including organization, scheduling, and prioritizing work assignments

· Good technical computer knowledge and skills including, but not limited to, Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) software, CCTV, access control, alarm monitoring, etc. with ability to perform basic preventive maintenance and troubleshooting problems

· Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with professional attitude and verbally communicate and present effectively in a group setting among employees, visitors, and patients

· Personal qualities which set examples to others on maintaining good interpersonal relationships and professional attitude and conduct

· Ability to work effectively and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment that includes frequent interruptions, changes in priorities, and under stress

· High security awareness while maintaining confidentiality in all matters pertaining to patients, visitors and employees

· Communications skills must focus on customer service by maintaining proper telephone and radio etiquette

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED :

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Minimum of three years of full-time experience in public safety communications or security communications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED :

· Healthcare security, emergency management, military, fire/rescue, EMS, or law enforcement experience with heavy customer contact.

· Knowledge and experience in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS)

Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Information Management or equivalent program

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED :

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED :

· International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO)
