Security Operations Analyst, Technology
We have a new opportunity to join our growing Technology team as our Security Operations Analyst. This role is offered on a permanent basis at our office in Embassy Gardens, London.
Reporting into the Head of Security Optations, you’ll provide first class operational support, maintenance and management of the security operation controls within the Penguin Random House technical environment. Your aim will be to improve and maintain the overall security profile of our business, collaborating with the wider Sec Ops team to monitor internal and external cyber threats and vulnerabilities, ensure that technical controls are appropriately applied and that information security incidents are dealt with quickly and effectively.

The role
Key responsibilities:
Support the PRH Code of Connection On-going Management of the DDoS Protection System End Point Protection: Anti Virus Encryption Mobile Device Management Network Access Control Management Email Security: Email Spam management including Exclusions & Exceptions Phishing Simulation Vulnerability Management Conduct vulnerability scans Co-ordinate penetration tests Manage the technical remediation from Vulnerability scan and Penetration tests Provide guidance and recommendations on emergency patching based on appropriate threat assessments Security Incident & Event Management: Log Reviews Critical Event identification and alert creation Conduct reviews of security technology for adherence to policy: Firewall Policy Review Email Allow list Review Anti-Virus Exception review Support delivery of on-going security initiatives and security projects, ensuring we get maximum coverage and great value out of our investments. Monitor internal and external cyber threats and vulnerabilities and ensure that technical controls are aligned to these. Rapid response, detection, isolation and remediation of Cyber Security incidents. Reporting to and informing management of incidents and incident prevention activities. Ensure audit trails, system logs and other monitoring data sources are reviewed periodically and follow policies and audit requirements.
What you’ll bring
Essential criteria:
Proven experience in an IT Security/IT Operations role. A strong working understanding of the business impact of security tools, technologies and policies. An excellent understanding of cyber security concepts, protocols, industry best practices and strategies. Information Security Incident handling experience. Engaged, curious and motivated mindset with the ability to challenge the norm. Willingness to share new ideas and ways of working, with a focus on collaborating positively within a wider team. Ability to commit to the hybrid working pattern mentioned below. Willingness to travel to our site in Frating, Colchester when required.
Preferred criteria:
CISSP qualification. Awareness/previous experience of working with teams in an AGILE environment.

Salary
The salary for this opportunity is up to £51,000, depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus a generous bonus scheme and benefits.
Hybrid working
While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role we expect that you will work from the Embassy Gardens office in London 2 days per week (typically Tuesday & Wednesday) with a willingness to travel to our site in Frating, Colchester approx 1-2 times per month.
