*Description*
SUMMARY: Provides security, safety and guest services to enhance the overall environment for all patients, employees, physicians, visitors, and other guests of Vassar Brothers Medical Center and its corporate affiliates.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND STANDARDS
1. Provides security services to maintain a reasonably safe environment.
2. Maintains all assigned equipment to ensure proper functioning of all shifts.
3. Provides other safety/security functions as requested by the director or manager to assist with routine services.
4. Promotes a safe and efficient working environment by adhering to medical center and department policies and procedures.
5. Responds to various emergency situations, including hazardous material spills, to eliminate or minimize unsafe conditions.
6. Demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect of all patients, family members, visitors and Medical Center personnel as identified in the philosophy of Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
* Education: Requires high school diploma or equivalent. General knowledge of simple mathematics and writing skills.
* License: Valid N.Y.S. driving license with a good driving record. Valid N.Y.S. Security Guard Registration card.
Working Conditions:
Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
Occupational: Significant occupational risk
Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force
Physical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
