SUMMARY:

The Security Officer 2 is responsible for the physical security of the facility, including assignments to walking or stationary posts, depending upon the location. The position will require inspection and control of persons and vehicles while entering or leaving the facility, logging of truck traffic during ingress and egress, writing reports, performing preliminary investigations in addition to switchboard operations, two-way radio communication and intercom equipment.

Specific duties include:

Checking identification of all visitors, vendors, contractors, and Team Members, allowing only authorized personnel into the facilityChecking all carry-in items including bags, briefcases, toolboxes, lunchboxes, etcWriting investigative reportsPreliminary investigations of accidents, thefts, work place violence, and other incidents as neededRoving or walking through the plant to check physical facility securityLog truck traffic during ingress and egress to the facility and inspection of all motor vehicles driven into the plant.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School diploma or its equivalency

Experience: Supervisory and investigative skills helpful but not mandatory, necessary training provided for successful applicants

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are desirable, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Special Skills: Excellent communication skills are a necessity and applicant must possess the ability to interact respectfully with all Team Members, including Tyson Management. Must have the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion

Reports to: Area Security Manager through the Senior Security Officer

Other Requirements: Valid drivers' license, and must be eighteen years of age or older.
