Summary This SECURITY OFFICER position, is located in the Mission Support Group, Security Forces Squadron (SFS) and is part of the CA 144 FW. Responsibilities THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION. The primary purpose of the SECURITY OFFICER, GS-0080-12, is to be the principal advisor to the Wing Commander as the Anti-Terrorism Officer (ATO) and report to the Mission Support Group Commander as the Defense Force Commander (DFC) with responsibility over the SFS; develops, implements, and manages the wing law enforcement, physical security, wing security, and Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection (AT/FP) programs. May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance. Requirements Conditions of Employment CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Military technicians must be assigned to a military position in the same unit which they are employed or, in a unit that is supported by the employing activity. Military technicians must hold the military grade specified for the position. Priority Areas(s) of Consideration: Priority consideration is first given to the areas below. AREA I= Current California National Guard employees who are serving on a Permanent/Indefinite/Temporary appointment. AREA II= Current California National Guard members. AREA III= Current military members of the Air Force/Army National Guard, Air Force/Army Reserve or Air Force/Army Active Duty. (Applicants who are currently in other Air/Army branches and NOT currently a member of the California National Guard (CNG) must become a member of a compatible unit of assignment within the Air Force CNG commensurate with the military grade listed in this announcement prior to federal assignment). Military Grades: O-1 through O-4 Recruitment/Relocation Recruitment/Relocation Incentive IS NOT authorized. PCS Relocation Costs IS NOT authorized based on determination that Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is not in the Government best interest. Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance. Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards. Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. The work may require the incumbent to drive a motor vehicle; if so, an appropriate valid driver's license is mandatory. Maintains weapons qualifications commensurate with a 31PX series Air Force Specialty Code. Qualifications General Experience: Possess experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; ability to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material; ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats; demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures; learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. SECURITY OFFICER, GS-0080-12: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 level, in: enforcing federal and assimilated state criminal and traffic laws, applicable regulations and administrative policies; experience in performing analytical and evaluative duties related to the business of security; experience directing installation measures needed to protect against internal and external threats of terrorism.
