As a Security Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and all UPMC properties. Your presence will help deter criminal activity, and you’ll be the first line of response for any issues that arise.

 

Responsibilities:

Patrol UPMC hospitals, buildings, grounds, and associated areas. Monitor security, fire, and environmental alarms. Respond to and resolve problems, disputes, and unusual circumstances. Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff. Report and document incidents, suspicious activities, and hazards. Staff fixed posts to monitor secured areas. Conduct patient escorts and stand-by details. Assist with traffic control and vehicle assists. Transport deceased to the morgue and release bodies from the morgue. Operate UPMC vehicles in accordance with state and local motor vehicle laws. Maintain required certifications and licensing. Complete all mandatory training programs. Inspect incoming and outgoing parcels to prevent theft. Perform other duties as assigned.
