Job Description Summary

Maintain security and safety of the Hotel by touring the interior and exterior of the building and observing the physical plant and clientele for any possible hazardous situations.

Job Description

Key Job FunctionsPatrol all areas of the Hotel, including back areas, Garage, floors and outlets. Performs a minimum of 4 complete watch rounds each night, reporting all suspicious activity to the House DetectiveChecks and / or secures all meeting rooms, rest rooms and outletsPerforms the stairwell checklist each nightMakes vacant and out of order room checks as necessarySets up pool alarm each night and makes regular checks of pool areas Assist Bellmen, housemen, and Banquet as necessaryAssist House Detective by answering calls and acting as backupCheck any safety issues, report any cleaning problems, pick up trays and trash when necessary or report to appropriate departmentsAssist house detective by answering calls and acting as back upHas workable knowledge of uniformed officer and Front Door Officer's dutiesBe completely familiar with fire and emergency proceduresDeliver Passionate & Engaging Service to our GuestsYou will be passionate and truly engaged in taking care of our guests,  recognizing individual guests and anticipating their unique needs in order to exceed their expectationsYou will consistently deliver our GUEST model:Greet or welcome everyone, warmly with a smileUse eye and ear contact and guest’s nameEstablish/anticipate needsSolve and own all requests/complaintsThank everyoneBuild solid relationship with your Colleagues Treat colleagues with respect and dignityOther duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Ability to obtain a special Officer's permit from the New Orleans Police Department is helpfulValid Driver's license helpful to drive Gem Car

Education and/or Experience                                              

High school diploma, prior police, Guard Service and/or Hotel security experience. The ability to be qualified and certified in basic first aid and CPR as well as the ability to be qualified and certified in hand gun use if necessary.

Must be able to physically defend the hotel, guest and employees against abuses. Must have normal (or corrected to normal) verbal skills, mobility, vision and hearing. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and  night working hours. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and exposure to Bourbon Street noise level.
