The Security Officer (Part-Time) is responsible for security of the facility including, but are not limited to, internal and external surveillance, monitoring incoming and outgoing materials, and metal detection procedures for all employees, visitors and contractors .
You will have the opportunity to:
+ Greet and visually identify employees entering the metals area. Check the credentials of employees not recognized.
+ Brief visitors on security procedures, and have them sign the required consent form.
+ Ensure all visitors and contractors remain in the front lobby area until their escort is available to meet them.
+ Ensure all persons, employees, contractors, and visitors are subjected to metal detection screening upon leaving the metals area.
+ Ensure that all material leaving the area has been checked and documented.
+ Schedule and supervise all door openings for incoming and outgoing material or personnel.
+ Record all door openings on a daily activity report. Include purpose, time opened, time closed and all persons involved.
+ Conduct interior and exterior tours during each shift. Log areas checked and times into the daily activity report.
+ Inspect all garbage leaving the metals area for metal content and maintain inspection room.
+ Assist members of the ERT to the extent possible without interfering with security responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Associate’s degree preferred.
+ Security experience is preferred.
+ Must have a valid NYS Security Officer License and ensure it is kept current.
+ Must be able to read, write, and understand all security policies and procedures.
+ Ability to read and equate metal weights and sizes in order to establish accountability for movement in and out of the plant.
+ Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Pay Range:
$25.15 - $35.50
Actual base salary offered varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction. Please understand that any job offer that requires approval of an export license will be conditional on Materion’s determination that it will be able to obtain an export license in a time frame consistent with Materion’s business requirements.
