The Fire & Security Lead is a specialist person responsible for managing and coordinating all fire safety and security operations within the facility. This role ensure compliance with legal regulations, corporate standards and best practices in fire prevention, emergency preparedness and response, physical security, investigations.
The fire & security lead provides leadership to the security team and collaborates with cross-functional departments to foster a safe and secure environment for people, assets and operations.
The job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Oversee inspection, testing and maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems. (sprinklers, alarms, special suppression agent, gaseous agents, fire extinguishers, fire pumps) Ensure compliance with local and international fire codes (NFPA, NOM, Stellantis fire standards) Develop and maintain fire safety plans, evacuation procedures, emergency preparedness, emergency response, Civil Protection annual plan, Incidence management team responsibilities and exercises. Lead fire risk assessments and implement corrective actions. Coordinate fire drills and emergency response for staff and emergency brigades Manage emergency contacts and coordination with local authorities Manage contracts and performance of external fire service providers. Supervise daily operations of security personnel and ensure adherence to the SOP’s Implement and monitor access control systems, CCTV, intrusion response and perimeter protection measures. Conduct security audits, patrols and incident investigations Lead response to security incidents, ensuring timely reporting and root cause analysis Support compliance with C-TPAT, AEO and other industry security standards. Coordinate visitor, contractor and vendor access processes. Lead, train and evaluate fire and security team members, including third party contractors Develop KPIs and prepare reports on fire and security performance, incidents, and improvement actions Participate in budgeting for fire and security equipment, services, and projects Serves as a key contact for regulatory bodies, insurance representatives and emergency service.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, criminology, or related field. 5+ years of experience in security and fire safety or related experience in a manufacturing environment Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or large-scale security operations. Understanding and application of regulations and requirements. Strong knowledge of fire and security systems, codes, and technologies. Investigation skills Effective written and verbal communication, excellent presentation skills. Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient in Microsoft office. Proficient in Spanish and English languagesCertifications (Preferred):
NFPA certifications CPP, PSP (ASIS International) C-TPAT / AEO Compliance Knowledge First responder / Emergency Management TrainingWork Environment:
